Hey! I’m Kechanth Kannan—though most people know me as Mr. Mortgage, and my friends just call me Kees. I was born and raised in Toronto, and I’m proud to call this diverse, fast-paced city home. As the eldest of three brothers, I naturally grew into the role of both leader and competitor—traits that continue to shape how I show up for my clients every day.

Background
Growing Up
As the eldest son of immigrant parents, I witnessed firsthand the challenges families face when trying to afford a home. Those early experiences sparked a deep interest in real estate and financial literacy. I knew early on that I wanted to understand how money, homes, and opportunity connect—and more importantly, how I could help others navigate that same path.
Education & Early Struggles
I earned my post-secondary certification in Economics from the University of Toronto, then jumped into the world of accounting software sales. Outside of my 9-to-5, I hustled in real estate—trying my hand at wholesaling deals and supporting realtors however I could. Like many others, COVID shifted my journey. I even attempted to become a realtor, but the timing wasn’t right. Those early stumbles became valuable lessons that shaped my direction forward.
Today & Tomorrow
As of 2025, I’m in my third year as a mortgage professional, doing what I love: helping people find the best mortgage solutions to build the life they want. I’ve helped my own family secure a home, and now I’m committed to doing the same for others.
The learning never stops, and I’m excited to keep growing with my clients and my community. When I’m not working, I’m probably at the gym, playing soccer, spending time with loved ones—or hanging out with my best dog friend. Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for more!
